Sleep Apnea Cause
Do you feel tired and burnt out during the day for no apparent reason? Does your work suffer from frequent bouts of lapse in
concentration and an air of depression and lack of control? Do you find it harder and harder to control your sleep during the day? If your
answer is yes then there is a
possibility that you are suffering from sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea cause has been the subject matter of research and health debates for quite some time now.
One of the major causes of sleep
apnea is obesity which prevents flow of air into the lungs. Smoking and exposure to second hand smoke is another cause
responsible for sleep irritant. Nasal congestion and blockages are other important reasons for sleep apnea. The condition is further
aggravated if you are having high blood pressure. Sometimes snoring can also become a sleep apnea cause as it may lead to obstruction of
air to lungs by increasing the throat palate. Tonsils and sedatives may also be a factor for the condition as the same may cause problems
in breathing as you sleep. Intake of alcohol and drugs may lead to relaxation of your throat muscles causing less air to reach your
lungs.
Sleep apnea is difficult to diagnose as the person suffering from it is not aware of the reason for frequent disruption of his
sleep. Thus the only way to detect the condition is by making your sleeping partner keep track of your sleep pattern and take notes of the
same. If you stop breathing during the night for some time, chances are that the pattern would be repeated consistently and hence may need
to be analyzed fully. Thus if you get up frequently gasping for air, chances are that you are suffering from sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea cause may be attributed to the central nervous system. This is a condition where the signal from your brain which
directs breathing is delayed and hence results in obstruction in breathing. Such a condition is a nervous disorder and may result from
stroke, epileptic disorders, brain injury, brain tumor and viral infection. It may also result from respiratory disorders you may be
suffering for quite some time.
You should spend time and effort in finding out the root sleep apnea cause. Sometime it may be a result of as minor a thing as a
sports injury suffered by you in your childhood. This may manifest itself in the later part of your life by way of sleep disorders and
attendant complications.
Sleep apnea is nothing to be ashamed of. It is simply a condition which can be treated successfully provided you are able to find
the sleep apnea cause. A large number of persons are having the condition without realizing the fact and that is a disturbing trend. It may
develop into a life threatening condition if not treated in time. The symptoms are quite simple and obvious. Just spend a little bit of
time. You may be all right and lead a happy and peaceful life and sleep.
